KIA Mix & Match Package with Content Population
Gildersome Parish Council
UK Government regulations specify that public sector organisations have a legal duty to make sure their websites meet accessibility requirements or face fines for non-compliance.
Gildersome Parish Council wanted to appoint a local web agency that could deliver within their tight budget.
The brief was for design and development of a WCAG Level AA compliant WordPress website, hosted on our server and with PAYG maintenance provisions.
Read here how we worked with the Gildersome PC clerk and committee to fulfil their brief.
Gildersome Parish Council Requirements
Gildersome Parish Council contacted us with the requirement for a complete redesign and development of their existing, outdated website to accommodate the UK Government regulations requiring WCAG Level AA compliance.
As their budget was tight and they had already been quoted fees that were unfeasible, they were looking for a WordPress website they could easily maintain themselves after completion in terms of content and using a PAYG provision for technical and safety maintenance.
Further requirements were the population of the content from the existing website to the new one and the transfer of the domain to a secure UK server with reasonable monthly hosting fees.
What The Final Outcome Looked Like
Callum’s design hit the mark at his first draft and required only a few minor colour and layout adjustments.
As we were dealing with content that would be sensitive to regulations imposed on public sector organisations, Caren worked closely with the Parish Council Clerk to ensure that compliance was achieved.
As the design and staging process was subject to committee approval, efficient project management was required on this project. Caren worked with the Parish Council Clerk to establish a systematic approach that would allow all participants to contribute but would not delay the project completion.
The Parish Council Clerk and Committee were very happy with our work. We will continue to work with them to ensure that accessibility, content and technical as well as safety standards are maintained.
