The Spotted Cow Drighlington invited the Callum L Gamble to present at their book club The Spotted Cow Drighlington invited the Callum L Gamble to present at their book club

On 10th June 2024 at 6pm, the Callum L Gamble team, Callum and Caren Launus-Gamble, were invited to do a talk and book signing session by the Spotted Cow pub, which runs a book club once a month.

Callum held the talk by himself and discussed the following:

  • His autism diagnosis
  • The strengths and challenges of his autism
  • The support he received at school
  • His life after school
  • The reason for writing the book

The audience mainly comprised of parents/grandparents with young children/grandchildren. As a result, Callum allowed everyone to ask questions throughout the talk and Caren gave her insights on overcoming the challenges of being an autistic child’s parent. Fortunately, there were many questions asked and this approach was deemed a success.

After the talk, there were only two book sales. The reason is that the pub owner, who also runs the book club, asked for me to provide 20 book copies for the event prior and sold all but two. However, everyone who had a book wanted Callum to sign it.
