The Callum L Gamble Team at the West Yorkshire Fair Work Charter Conference 2025 The Callum L Gamble Team at the West Yorkshire Fair Work Charter Conference 2025
- Callum L Gamble
- March 20, 2025
On March 19th, 2025, during Neurodiversity Celebration Week, the Callum L Gamble team was honoured to be invited to participate in the panel at the West Yorkshire Fair Work Charter event at Dean Clough Mills in Halifax.
The Fair Work Charter aims to promote fair work practices within West Yorkshire businesses and create a brighter future for them.
Callum and Caren were interviewed by Fatima Khan-Shah about their inclusion work and Callum’s lived experience of autism. Alongside the Callum L Gamble team, Fiona Conor of Trust Electric Heating, Beau Bulman of Suma Wholefoods and Nigel Jones of Together Housing Group talked about the successful fair working measures they used in their businesses, such as:
- Treating job applicants and employees as individuals, encouraging open conversations about challenges and strengths and making any required and feasible adjustments on that basis (Callum L Gamble / KreativeInc Agency)
- Listening to new ideas from all employees and supporting personal development (Trust Electric Heating)
- Encouraging unemployed housing services users to apply for jobs at their housing group (Together Housing Group)
- Equal pay for everyone (Suma Wholefoods)
All panel members agreed that a fair working culture must be based on trust between the employer and the employee. The first step in achieving this is having open and honest conversations about what is working and what is not and then working out together how to move forward.
The event was enormously uplifting! Our team believes the Fair Work Charter is here to stay and not just a tick-box exercise.
Thank you to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and West Yorkshire Mayor, Tracy Brabin, for a superbly organised event!
